The Republic of Maimoto Keisuke is a massive, orderly nation, renowned for its unlimited-speed roads, compulsory military service, and state-planned economy. The hard-nosed, cynical, devout population of 3.883 billion Maimoto Keisukeans are ruled without fear or favor by a psychotic dictator, who outlaws just about everything and refers to the populace as "my little playthings."

The medium-sized, moralistic, socially-minded, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Education, and Welfare. The average income tax rate is 32.7%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The Maimoto Keisukean economy, worth 213 trillion yen a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is a slick, highly efficient, fairly diversified black market in Tourism, Retail, Trout Farming, and Uranium Mining. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. Average income is 55,076 yen, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Droves of former desperados are applying to join the border police, citizens are encouraged to show displeasure with politicians by poking them with sharp metal sticks, every day at 4am Maimoto Keisukeans wake to pray for the sun to rise, and the bonfire of the old paper records can be seen for miles around Maimoto Keisuke City. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Maimoto Keisuke's national animal is the farmer.

Maimoto Keisuke is ranked 231,933rd in the world and 1,565th in Remembrance for Highest Food Quality, scoring 9.08 on the Meeshlin-Starr Index.
